Science & Children journal redesign
Publication Design
Client Task
The Science & Children redesign project focused on modernizing the publication’s visual design to improve readability, engagement, and overall user experience for educators. The goal was to refresh the publication’s aesthetic while preserving its educational integrity and strengthening its appeal to its professional audience.
Problem
The existing design felt dated and lacked a clear visual hierarchy, making it difficult for readers to quickly navigate and absorb content. Educational publications often contain large volumes of dense material, so the challenge was creating a layout system that improved clarity without sacrificing depth or credibility.
Solution
I redesigned the publication using a cleaner editorial system with stronger typography, improved layout structure, and more intentional content hierarchy. The refreshed visual framework made articles easier to navigate, increased readability, and created a more modern, engaging experience for educators. The redesign successfully enhanced both usability and the publication’s professional visual identity.
